Al Gore, in an interview with the Guardian, claimed that the Bush administration is a “renegade band of rightwing extremists.”
I wish! If Bush is a rightwing extremist I want to know what that makes me. I’m definately to the right of Bush on many issues. Is Al Gore that for out in left field that he can’t even see those of us to the right of Bush?
Allahpundit claims Gore is just playing Soreloserman again, I would have to agree.

In his speech last night President Bush said he was going to send 6000 National Guard troops to help the border guards on the southern border while we train more border guards. This sounds like a good deal, but the Guard troops won’t actually be helping with enforcement, but will just be in a supporting role. This sounds to me like a ploy to make us believe he is getting tough on enforcement, similar to the INS raids recently.
Bush went on to push his “comprehensive plan” for immigration reform, he should have stopped while he was ahead. He wants us to believe that his “guest worker” program is not amnesty. Sorry Mr. President but we have gotten good at reading lips and we know what the definition of amnesty is, and your plan smells like amnesty. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us… we can’t be fooled again.
I still want to know what jobs Americans won’t do, because I can’t think of any… and are the illegal aliens still going to do these jobs once they are Americans?
Michelle Malkin has a new sign for the bring the troops home crew.

If not home and not away, then where?
Hooray for the Open Border Assphant.

Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, wrote a letter to Bush offering “new solutions” for the international problems concerning Iran. This is the first direct contact that Iran has had with Washington in 27 years. While the letter has not been made public yet, Scott Ott over at Scrappleface has a “leaked” version of the letter with the top five “new solutions” offered by Ahmadinejad:
5) Wipe Israel off the face of the map. Replace with goat ranch.
4) U.S. buys Iranian oil. I make threatening statements causing uncertainty in petroleum markets. We use the windfall profits to pay Russia to help us make nuclear devices, and to pay China to stop U.N. sanctions. U.S. continues to buy Iranian oil.
3) Get U.N. to adopt ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy regarding uranium enrichment.
2) Put Zionists in boxcars. Send back to Europe. Replace Israel with goat ranch.
1) U.S. joins global Muslim Caliphate, ensuring peace and bountiful supplies of enriched uranium for all of Allah’s people.
Sounds an awful lot like the old solutions to me. I wouldn’t except any solution short of the total dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program. If he is unwilling to offer that then there is no more discussion needed in my opinion, we must act before Iran actually has nuclear arms capabilities.
